Volunteers play an crucial role in our shelter.

You can help!

• attend adoption events
• help us catch up on laundry
• join us for play groups
• match families with adoptable pets
• participate in dog training sessions
• socialize animals on walks or in playgroups
• take photos, help make treats
• so much more! 

Volunteers must:

• be at least 18 years old
• be able to effectively communicate with staff & residents
• have a friendly demeanor
• have the ability to work safely with animals

Hours earned at Animal Services count toward scholarship & graduation requirements.

High school students can gain community service hours by participating in our youth foster program.

With a parent's approval & willingness to accept kittens into the family home, a student can gain 10 service hours per week toward graduation requirements for community service.

To be considered for this program, complete an application (see below link). If approved, students will be expected to feed, water, clean, & socialize the kittens to ready them for adoption.

Fostered kittens are returned to us when they are eight weeks of age and healthy. This program does not include nursing kittens; only kittens that can eat solid food. Students must be 16 years of age or older.
